wow, that sounds awesome! The first couple weeks in a new place is always crazy, but it sounds like you're having a great time! but wait.... you're just now learning to ride a bike for the first time? and there are lots of Koreans?

so how are crab flavoured chips? *lol* Every country seems to have one flavour that no one else does. Australia and Britain have chicken flavour, but the two versions are really really different (the english chicken flavour actually tastes like chicken, the australian one doesn't), while in Canada we have Ketchup... hmmmm, I don't know about crab though.

Does McDonalds have a Mc-something Chinese burger? Cause they have McLobster in Maritime Canada, and I've heard they have some weird things in parts of Europe...

Completely off on a tangent, I was totally startled coming around a corner by an asian girl who was significantly taller than me. It was totally weird, cause it took me a moment to realise that the reason I was startled was because I'd never seen an asian girl that tall before *lol* I can understand why clothes shopping might be hard...

And oh yes, you can get ~anything~ pirated in China. *nods* You should get your friends to send you orders *g*

: Hi from China! I've been here for nearly two weeks. Fifty more to go! So far, I have bought a bike (and learnt how to ride it!), made lots of Korean friends, had my own dorm room for the first time, SEEN SNOW OMGOMGOMG!!!, had complete conversations with strangers in Mandarin, caught a bus to the city and a taxi back without using a word of English (but plenty of handwaving), been in Japan (for a nine hour stopover), tried crab flavoured potato chips, eaten toffee strawberries (better than toffee apples by far) and taro pie at McDonalds (I prefer apple pie), been pushed around by hundreds of Chinese who as a nation don't have a grasp on the idea of a queue, been to the markets and tried bargaining (I got a snowflake necklace today for 35RMB reduced from 85RMB but I still think I was ripped off a little *l* Still, that's about AUS$6 and it was a pretty necklace so I can't complain too much) and have generally been having lots of fun! Clothes shopping is weird cos I'm either a Large here or I don't fit into the clothes at all *l* In Australia I'm size 8/10! Everything here is so cheap though! At the student cafe downstairs we pay about 6RMB per person for a huge meal that we don't even finish. That's abput AUS$1!

: Also, I thought I would be sad about missing my TV shows like Lost and Desperate Housewives, but that's not a problem at all. I should have known - this is China, we can get anything pirated! I bought half seasons of both shows for about AUS$3 each *l* Beats downloading them any day!

: Missing the internet a lot though cos we don't have broadband in our rooms yet. We can only apply for broadband on the 12th, 13th, 14th, 28tth, 29th and 30th of each month. I have no idea why! We arrived on the 15th so we just missed out. Counting down the days, though! :)

: *waves*
