: : I'm glad you are feeling somewhat better. I wish they had a more permanent solution for you. That sounds so terrible.

: : I am totally not into the World Cup, but it's the only thing that's been on our TV for weeks. Today I even dressed E in a blue and yellow outfit since Mike mentioned it was the big game today. He thought I specifically bought the outfit to support Sweden, but it was actually a hand-me-down from my sister.

: : My big news is pretty silly. I've decided to start selling Mary Kay. It will give me something to do and maybe a little bit of income. Income is good. I have too much outgo right now. I want to go to the mall right now and spend spend spend. Instead I am going to go to the pool with `E in a few minutes. Maybe he'll take a long nap and I can get some work on MM done.

: : I was going to take him to the pool yesterday but the heavens opened up and the rain poured down.

: : We're having beef kebabs for dinner tonight, since you were talking about food. The other day I made a fabulous maple-sage crockpot pork roast. MMmmmmmmmmm. I want to have that again soon.

: maple-sage!! that sounds fantastic!! I used to make this sauce for salmon with maple syrup and balsamic vinegar and herbs. I don't remember the specifics any more... I suppose the vinegar-syrup sounds an odd combination, but it was really really good on salmon. Even with imitation maple syrup *g*

: Maybe this is a dumb question, or I've missed something somewhere... what's Mary Kay?

Bah! I wrote out a huge long reply to this last night and then my internet went down and I was going to post it when it went back up but then Erik pushed the power button and it was lost! That boy is goign to lose his fingers someday. I will have to post the recipe again. It is a gooood recipe. But not right now. I am fighting Mr. PowerCord Boy and typing gives him the advantage.

Mary Kay is a line of beauty products that are sold using direct-sell techniques. You buy it from an independent seller who really works with you and makes sure you are happy. You can also order online but when you are ordering online you are actually ordering from someone, usually local since you put your zip in a search engine to find a local website. They are focused on skin care but also do color. I got into it because my skin has been a complete mess since Erik was born. I was getting really, really depressed about it and thinking about seeing a dermotoligist. I met a random Mary Kay lady and went to one of her skin care classes and noticed an *immediate* difference in my skin. I've been using it for a little over a week now and I have ZERO pimples and look an easy five years younger. I am not a natural born saleswoman, but I think I can do this! If not, at least I get a major discount on the products *lol*.
