: well, the books range mostly from the 7 or 8 year range up to YA, except maybe for the fairy tales. No picture books that I'm aware of, although I'm unfamiliar with some of the titles, so I could be wrong! We have one of the Series of Unfortunate Events books, Peter Pan, Pullman, something called The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper (I'm intrigued just by the name), and a handful of others. 7 books plus a kind of Harry Potter "cultural phenomenon" section. No reading journal, just a couple major essays and a couple book review type exercises, and then the final exam.

: I'm pretty excited so far. The teacher is a lot of fun. She has this really dry sense of humour, and she goes off on tangents a bit, since she's kind of going over the "history" of children's lit at the moment.

: Anyway! It's funny being back at school and not taking physics. I come to the physics building to use the computers, and people look at me and say "aren't you graduated?" *lol*

I really liked The Dark is Rising series when I was a kid, especially Over Sea, Under Stone. Let us know what you think about it.
